Meet the Photographer

Hello, my name is Alexis Ropp.

At 26, I am finally stepping into something that has quietly been part of me all along.

Growing up in central Minnesota, I found comfort in the simple, steady things—open fields, winding trails, and the familiar rhythm of hooves against the ground. While other people chased noise and crowds, I leaned into the quiet. I have always been friendly, the kind of person who smiles easily and listens more than she talks, but there’s a shyness to me too—a softness that makes you feel at ease the moment you meet me.

For years, my camera was just something I carried along. What started as snapping photos of friends and family slowly turned into something more meaningful. I had an eye for the moments others missed—the golden light filtering through trees, the bond between a horse and rider, the laughter that happens in between posed shots. Horses, especially, became one of my favorite subjects. Out in nature, with my boots in the dirt and a camera in hand, everything just felt right.

Photography wasn’t something I rushed into. It grew with me, quietly and patiently, just like I did.

Outside of my lens, my life is full in the best kind of way. I share it with my boyfriend, who knows my heart for both adventure and quiet evenings, and together we’ve built a home that’s a little busy, a little chaotic, and full of love. We’ve adopted his nephew, who brings a whole new kind of experience and purpose into our world. Add in three dogs, two cats, and my horse, and there’s never a dull moment—just the way I like it.

When I'm not behind the camera, you’ll almost always find me outside— working a barrel race with friends, in an inner tube floating down the river with some of the people I love most, or just spending time with my horse. That connection, the trust and partnership, is something I carry into my photography too. It’s why my photos feel so real—because they are.

Now, after years of capturing memories for the people closest to me, I am finally taking the leap and starting my own photography business. It’s not about perfection or big, flashy moments for me. It’s about authenticity, connection, and preserving the little things that matter most.

I may be a little shy, but through my work, I tell stories in a way words never could. And this is just the beginning.

Below you can read from the wonderful models I've previously had to hear about their own experiences first hand.
